Biography
Berke Aygun was born in Ankara, 1971. She respectively graduated from TED Ankara Koleji, then from Ankara University Law School, and got her LLM degree from Manchester University on International Business Law., in 1999.
Her professional life started as a Legal Counsel for BOTAŞ. During this period, she mainly worked on different kinds of EPC contracts, cross-border energy transactions contracts, intergovernmental agreements, host government agreements and arbitrations of energy projects. While she was acting as Chief Legal Officer of BOTAŞ. she also acted as Head of Nabucco Legal Team for a while.
Later, she integrated to private sector; EGEGAZ/ ÇOLAKOGLU GROUP. Initially she focused on designing, drafting and negotiating of Terminal Usage Procedures and Principles, Terminal Service Agreement and MSA’s. Afterwards, she began working on the legal issues concerning power generation, BOT projects.
Since 2017, she is working as the Secretary General of GUYAD, an NGO; aiming to raise awareness about solar and other renewable energy sources.
Within the spectrum of this multinational environment of carbon world to renewables; analyzing the projects and country dynamics, identification of risks, determination of the legal milestones, preparation of regulatory and commercial legal documents and contribution to negotiations and solving the legal problems constituted the basis of her works.
