EROL DEMİRER

Biography

Erol Demirer was born in İstanbul in 1958. He graduated from the German High School Istanbul. Later, he studied Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). He completed his M.Sc. in electrical machines and power electronics. He worked at Cableries de Cossonay Switzerland from 1983 to 1984. In 1984, he started working at Demirer Group as senior technical manager in the cable factories . In 1997, with his brother Önder Demirer, they started investing in wind energy business, as the pioneers of the sector in Turkey. Until now, 17 wind power plants with app. 600 MW capacity are completed and the investments in wind energy business continue.

Mr. Demirer is married and has two sons. He speaks Turkish, English, French and German.
