Biography

Irem Barzilay is a Sustainability expert, who is the manager of the Sustainable Finance team of Garanti BBVA. She has been working in Garanti BBVA since 2018. Previously, she has worked in various technical consultancy companies. Irem makes sure that all the projects she handles are oriented towards the SDGs from the broader perspectives. Irem has experience in developing and promoting sustainable finance products where the clients are invited to actively contribute to a Sustainable World in return for enhanced benefits in their finance transactions. The Garanti BBVA Sustainable Finance Team has numerous awards and Garanti BBVA is considered to be the pioneer bank of Turkey, towards Sustainability. Irem holds an Environmental Engineering degree from TR, and USA. She also has MSc. Energy Engineering & Sustainability degree from Politecnico Di Milano and MBA degree from Sabancı University.
